Adaptability, Realistic Expectations- key to GE success.

Two of the reasons that GE has had a successful 126 years is because the leaders were adaptable, set and met realistic expectations. It is highly promising to see the Immelt team continue this successful leadership approach.

It is clear that the company must reduce its dependence on Financial services and its complexity. GO BIG has not worked and focus and selectivity must become the new theme.

Adaptable Leadership - Building Leaders for Changing Times said...

Adaptability is the key to ongoing success. Great leaders must learn that what worked for them in the past may be the last strategy to implement in the future. Everyone recognizes that adaptability is the key to success over time. However, it is becoming increasingly noticed that being adaptable is much easier to say than do. No wonder IBM found that only 14% of organizations feel very prepared to adapt to change. Congratulations to GE for surviving change by being adaptable!
